  • DIY Courage Beads

If you are looking for a little something to help build confidence in the first few weeks of school, this simple idea might be worth a try.

By creating matching beaded treasures for you and your child,  you can share the 'courage' needed for the first few weeks. Simply drip a couple of drops of your favourite calming blend on both trinkets and your child can feel connected to you every time they stop to inhale the essential oils from their beaded creation. Knowing that you too are breathing in that same scent can foster a comforting sense of connection.

    You will need:

    - String or twine

    - Natural timber un-painted beads (cedar are particularly nice!)

    - Your favourite calming blend, orange, lemon myrtle, lavender, sandalwood etc.

    Method:

Simply string into a necklace, bracelet, keyring, charm and drop with a couple of drops of essential oil. Wear when you need a little courage.

Beads can be purchased online or from your favourite craft supply store but must be un-coated or will not absorb the essential oils.

Have a happy first week back. x
