  • Floral Deep Hair Conditioning Treatment

After almost 3 months of lockdown here in Sydney and no access to hairdressing salons, you can whip up this very simply and deeply nourishing whipped hair mask to enjoy a little Self-care this September.

We used a lovely mix of Lavender, Rosemary and Jasmine pure essentials as these oils are either known for their benefits in nourishing and conditioning hair and/ or relaxing and grounding benefits which are a perfect combination for an at home pampering experience.

This homemade deep hair conditioner is easy to make and will leave your hair soft, smooth, smelling like a garden in full bloom during the Springtime and you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

    Ingredients

    • 3 tablespoons of coconut oil (solid)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 8 drops of pure essential oils* (suitable for topical use).

*We used 5 drops of Lavender, 2 drops of Rosemary and 1 drop of Jasmine pure essential oils.

     Instructions

    1. Put the coconut oil, olive oil, and essential oils into your mixing bowl.
    2. Mix on medium/high speed with an electric mixer for five minutes or until ingredients are whipped to a thick and creamy consistency.
    3. Once whipped, apply to clean, dry hair.
    4. Comb through with wide tooth comb to evenly distribute.
    5. Relax and let the whipped hair mask work it's magic for 15–20 minutes. Listen to some relaxing music, have a cup of herbal tea or read a book to really embrace this self-care activity. Rinse, shampoo and style as desired.
    6. Repeat once a week or as often as you like.

    Notes:

    • This recipe is to be made and used shortly after. We wouldn't suggest keeping it for future usage.
    • This recipe is to made enough for 1 hair mask for short to medium hair and will fit nicely into one of our 120ml amber glass jars for application or for gifting that same day to a friend in need of a little pampering!
    • Double or even triple this recipe if you have long hair or want to treat yourself and maybe a friend or in my instance, my daughter and I had a little DIY all natural at home spa session. We put our whipped mixture in our 250ml amber PET jar.
